The goal of the Mount Airy Parks and Recreation Department is to build a healthy community through parks, programs and partnerships:

  • Providing attractive and appropriate facilities, primarily for recreation
  • Maintaining a safe, family-oriented atmosphere
  • Having a well-organized and professional staff
  • Offering quality, comprehensive programs including aquatics, athletics, and group fitness
  • Having clear and reasonable policies on participation packages
  • Developing effective ways of evaluating our programs and staff, making adjustments as needed
  • Assessing for public input and offering educational reports to the community
  • Designing and promoting programs that allow each individual participant the opportunity to reach his/her recreational and wellness potential

KARATE AT REEVES COMMUNITY CENTER
Come and join in on karate classes that are offered FREE to our members under the guidance of Instructor Bill Beamer who carries with him not only 30+ years of experience
but also carries a 6th Degree Black Belt.

Tuesdays and Thursdays
7:00pm – 9:00pm in the downstairs Kidz Klub

  • August 30th,2019  11:00am  "End Of Summer Bash"

Located at Reeves Community Center Outdoor Pool choose to "Class or Craft".  Aquatics classes will be offered at 11:  am or if that inst your thing, join in on a craft.  After activities stick around to celebrate the end of Summer and enjoy BBQ sandwich, cool refreshments, music and fun social time with fellow members and friends!  

$2 is a DEAL for all this fun!!!  BYO (Bring your own) favorite dessert to share!

Dust off your cowboy boots and pull on your favorite jeans!  We are having a Hoedown at Riverside Park! YEEHAW!  Food, Refreshments and Fun! Don't miss it.

  • October 31st,2019  12:00pm  "Halloween Chili Cook Off Party"

Tricks and Treats await at this all time favorite event!  Who will walk away with the coveted crown of Chili Cook Off Champion this year?  

We have 2 divisions that will invite anyone to come and seek the claim to fame with our Senior Division and Open Division (open is any age below 50 years of age).  Also since this years cook off lands on a festive date, dress up in your Halloween costumes or in festive attire to see what tricks or treats you'll nab!

RCC decided to nix the competition and just have a morning filled with fun fitness with friends and fellow RCC Members!

Come join in (open to the public) 9:00am for a WOD Showdown!
 We will be having 4 different workouts...
 There will be solo or team options and with different weight suggestions (or you chose your own) as well as movement modifications to accommodate for ability levels!
 So this is a fun challenge for EVERYONE!
 There will be about a 10-15 minute break between each workout.
 No workout lasting over 15 minutes!

 Great community, encouragement, hype music, drinks and snacks await you!
 So make plans to join us!
