About Chief Fallaw
Assistant Chief / Fire Marshal Chris Fallaw is a 30 year veteran of the fire service. He has been promoted through the ranks and has served the citizens of Mount Airy since 1998. He has an A.A.S in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Spartanburg Community College in South Carolina.
Certifications & Experience
He possesses numerous fire service-related certifications such as Driver / Operator, Aerial Operator, Hazardous Material Technician, Rescue Technician, Fire Inspector Level III, and has obtained his NCSFA Advanced Firefighter certificate. He is also a Certified Fire Investigator and is a Level II Instructor qualified to teach Emergency Vehicle Driver, Fire Prevention Code Continuing Education, and Live Structural Burn.
Family & Community Involvement
Chris resides in Mount Airy with his wife Alicia and three sons. Assistant Chief Fallaw is very active in his community as well. He served as a deacon at Flat Rock Baptist Church where he was on the Building and Grounds Committee. He is a member and Past Master of the Renfro Masonic Lodge and has also volunteered with the Four-Way Volunteer Fire Department. He also assists Habitat for Humanity with building projects in his spare time.
