[ARCHIVED] Memorial Day Program cancellation/changes for Monday, May 25th

Memorial Day is a day to honor the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the US Military to protect our freedoms. On this day, we pay tribute to service members from all of America’s past wars who have died bravely serving our Country. We all, as a Nation, need to stand as one and remember the sacrifices of our valiant military fallen heroes.

The City of Mount Airy Mayor and Board of Commissioners do hereby give notice that the City of Mount Airy’s Memorial Day Program scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2020 has been altered due to the restrictions of the Pandemic. The City of Mount Airy Honor Guard will lay the wreath at the Veteran’s Memorial Fountain on Monday, May 25, 2020 11:00 am to mark the observance of Memorial Day; however, this event will not be open to the public.

Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times.

~David L. Rowe, Mayor
