The HB Rowe Environmental Park was dedicated in 2010 as a result of a land donation by Erika Rowe in memory of her late husband, Henry B. Rowe. The purpose of the park was to help students and the public get in touch with nature.

Mount Airy Middle School uses the facility as an outdoor classroom. There is a picnic shelter, access to the greenway, pedestrian bridge to Mount Airy Middle School and a natural walking path.
